PUBLIC HEALTH PROGRAM DESIGN

ehc was employed by USQ to support academic staff from the School of Health and Wellbeing in the development of the new Master of Public Health in 2019-20. This project saw us interviewing USQ staff to understand the coverage of public health curriculum across faculties. We then met with leaders from the Schools and Faculty to understand the drivers for introducing the new program, conducted a benchmarking activity against other comparable Master programs and conducted surveys with students in related programs. We also interviewed employees in the public health sector from the West Moreton and Darling Downs region to understand their perceptions of USQ and to understand their desired attributes of MPH graduates. Guided by this local data, we selected an appropriate evidence-based framework to build the curriculum around. We worked closely with the lead academic staff from the School of Health and Wellbeing.
