ehc supported the University of Newcastle and the Hunter New England (HNE) Local Health District (LHD) Population Health team in scaling up a healthy lunchbox program called ‘SWAP IT’. SWAP IT is an evidence-based digital lunchbox intervention integrated into an existing school-to-parent communication system (e.g. SkoolBag). In a new delivery model, ehc integrated a text-message delivered system for SWAP IT, where tailored text messages were sent to registered parents at behaviourally appropriate times (e.g. lunch preparation or grocery selection times), SWAP IT messages were tailored based on the parent information collected during registration, and increased the reach and impact of the program.
